FFL Transfer — Liability & Limitations

This page supplements our FFL Transfer Policy with important disclosures about liability and the limits of our responsibility during the transfer process. Read both pages together.

Receiving Dealer Independence

Your receiving FFL dealer is an independent business with no affiliation with Reactive Gunworks. We have no control over their fees, practices, availability, or licensing status. We are not responsible for:

  • Transfer fees charged by the receiving dealer
  • Delays caused by their schedule or workload
  • Their refusal to accept a transfer
  • Errors or delays in their Form 4473 processing
  • Revocation, suspension, or expiration of their FFL license after we've shipped

If your chosen dealer cannot complete the transfer after your item has shipped, you are responsible for arranging an alternative receiving FFL at your expense. We cannot recall a shipment in transit.

Background Check Results

We have no involvement in, access to, or control over background checks. The check is conducted by the receiving FFL. We are not responsible for:

  • Delays from a "delay" response
  • Denials
  • Errors in the NICS database
  • Any costs you incur as a result of a delay or denial

Jurisdiction & Legal Compliance

You are solely responsible for confirming that any firearm purchased from us is legal to own, possess, and transfer in your jurisdiction. We rely on your representation at the time of purchase that the item is legal where you live. We are not responsible for transfers prohibited by state or local law that you failed to verify before ordering.

If a transfer cannot be completed because the firearm is prohibited in your jurisdiction, the item will be returned to us at your expense and a refund issued minus actual shipping costs and a restocking fee starting at 5%.

Shipping & Carrier Liability

Once a firearm is tendered to the carrier, our direct responsibility for the item's physical condition is limited. All shipments with our Delivery Assurance added are tracked and insured. If a shipment is lost or damaged in transit, we will assist your efforts to pursue a claim with the carrier. Resolution is subject to the carrier's process and timeline, which we don't control.

We are not liable for delivery failures, theft after confirmed delivery, or carrier-caused damage beyond our good-faith efforts to pursue a claim.
