Ordering & Payment

Placing an order, paying, gift cards, and tax.

Can I change or cancel my order after I place it?
Reach out at support@reactivegunworks.com as soon as you can. We can usually change or cancel an order before it ships. Once a firearm has shipped, the cancellation terms in our Returns & Refunds policy apply, and custom orders can't be changed once work has begun.
What payment methods do you accept?
Currently we accept debit and credit cards and gift certificates. Other payment options are in the works.
Do you offer financing or layaway?
Not at this moment — but we're working on both financing and layaway options.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — you can purchase a gift certificate on our site and apply it at checkout.
Do you charge sales tax?
Sales tax is calculated at checkout and collected where required by law, based on your shipping destination. We don't collect for all states currently — input your address at checkout to easily confirm if we collect for yours.

Order Status & Account

Tracking your order and managing your account.

How do I track my order?
Once your order has tracking, we email you the tracking number. For firearms, your FFL dealer will notify you when it is received and ready for pickup. You can always reach us at support@reactivegunworks.com for any shipping issues.
Do I need an account to buy?
Guest checkout is allowed with a verified active email address. We recommend making an account so you can easily track your order — this can easily be done after your order is placed.

Buying & FFL Transfers

How online firearm purchases and dealer transfers work.

How do I buy a firearm online?
Place your order and use our FFL dealer locator at checkout to choose a licensed dealer near you. We verify the dealer's license, then ship your firearm to them. Your dealer contacts you when it's ready — you'll go in, complete the ATF Form 4473 and background check, and take possession.
Can you ship a firearm directly to my house?
No. Federal law requires all firearms to ship to a licensed FFL dealer for transfer — no exceptions. You cannot have a firearm shipped to a residential address. See our FFL Transfer Policy for how it works.
What's a transfer fee, and who do I pay it to?
Your local FFL dealer charges their own transfer fee when you pick up your firearm — typically $15 to $75+, depending on the dealer. This fee is set and collected by your dealer, not by Reactive Gunworks.
How do I choose my FFL dealer?
You can select any licensed FFL dealer in the U.S. through our locator. You're responsible for confirming they'll accept the item and transfer it to you. If your preferred dealer isn't listed, have them email their FFL to support@reactivegunworks.com and enter their address at checkout.
What is an FFL?
A Federal Firearms License authorizes a business to sell and transfer firearms. Federal law requires firearms to ship to a licensed FFL dealer, who handles the paperwork, background check, and other requirements before transferring the firearm to you. See our FFL Transfer Policy.
What is ATF Form 4473?
The Firearms Transaction Record — the federal form you fill out at your FFL dealer when taking possession of a firearm. Your dealer runs a background check as part of it where necessary.
Will I go through a background check?
Yes. Your FFL dealer runs a federal background check when you pick up your firearm, as required by law.
What does my dealer need to send you?
A copy of their current FFL (and SOT license, for NFA items) emailed to support@reactivegunworks.com — if we haven't sent them any firearms recently, or their license has recently been renewed.
Can I buy a handgun if I live in another state?
Yes. We ship to a licensed FFL in your state of residence, where you complete the transfer. Federal law requires handgun transfers to take place in your home state. All relevant laws and restrictions for your jurisdiction must be followed.
What if my FFL won't accept the transfer?
Contact us and we'll help arrange an alternate dealer. You're responsible for confirming your chosen dealer accepts transfers from online retailers before you order.
How long will my dealer hold my firearm?
That's set by your dealer, not us — hold policies vary. We recommend arranging pickup promptly once you're notified it's arrived.

Shipping

Processing times, carriers, and rates.

How fast do orders ship?
Orders are processed and shipped within 1–2 business days. During high-volume periods like sales or launches, it may take up to 3 business days. You'll get tracking by email once your order leaves our facility. See our Shipping policy for full details.
Do you offer free shipping?
Free ground shipping is currently available on orders that do not contain firearms. Details show in your cart. Firearm shipping rates are based on the products in your cart and the method selected.

NFA / Class III

Suppressors, SBRs, and the ATF transfer process.

How do NFA items like suppressors and SBRs work?
Your receiving dealer must hold a valid SOT license — not all FFLs can transfer NFA items, so confirm before ordering. NFA items require an ATF-approved dealer-to-dealer transfer before we ship (usually 7–10 business days), then you'll submit ATF Form 4 through your dealer and wait for approval before pickup. See our NFA / Class III Policy.
Is there still a $200 tax stamp on NFA items?
As of 2026, the previous $200 Form 4 transfer tax no longer applies. Your dealer will walk you through current Form 4 requirements. See our NFA / Class III Policy.

Pre-Orders

How deposits, lead times, and cancellations work.

How do pre-orders work?
When you place a pre-order, your payment method is charged at purchase to secure your place in line — sometimes a deposit, sometimes in full, depending on the item. Estimated availability dates come from the manufacturer and can change; given the custom and limited nature of what we carry, be prepared for lead times to extend. See our Pre-Orders policy.
Can I cancel a pre-order?
You can cancel any time before the item ships, unless custom changes have been made at your request. Cancelled standard pre-orders are subject to a restocking fee starting at 10%. If an item becomes permanently unavailable from the manufacturer, you get a full refund with no fee. See our Pre-Orders policy.

Returns & Refunds

Firearms, parts, and damaged shipments.

What's your return policy on firearms?
Before it ships: refund minus a restocking fee starting at 5%. After shipment but before transfer: you have 3 calendar days from delivery to your FFL to inspect and report issues (restocking fee starting at 10%, item must be verified new and unfired). Once transferred to you on a Form 4473 — or 3 days after delivery, whichever comes first — the sale is final. Full terms in our Returns & Refunds policy.
Can I return parts and accessories?
Most non-serialized parts and accessories can be returned within 15 days of delivery if still sellable as new — unused, unmodified, in original packaging. Returns are subject to a restocking fee starting at 10%. All parts and accessories sales are final 15 days after delivery. See our Returns & Refunds policy.
What if my item arrives damaged or incorrect?
Contact us at support@reactivegunworks.com right away with photos, and we'll ship a replacement.

Products & Brands

What we carry, finishes, and terminology.

What brands do you carry?
We curate top names in premium and custom firearms — Infinity Firearms, Fowler Industries, Agency Arms, Landers Weapon Systems, Nighthawk Custom, Atlas Gunworks, Zermätt Arms, Monsoon Tactical, Vulcan Machine Werks, Dave Modz Customs, Radian Weapons, One Thousand Ships, ASTRA Defense Group, and Staccato, among others. See our Brands page for the complete list of companies we stand behind.
What is a 2011, and how is it different from a 1911?
A 1911 is a single-stack, single-action pistol designed by John Browning. A 2011 is its modern evolution: a double-stack, higher-capacity magazine in a modular three-piece gun, while keeping the 1911's trigger feel and manual safety. "2011" is technically a trademarked name by Staccato (formerly STI), but is used colloquially to describe most modern double-stack 1911 pistols, including most of the ones we carry. There are technical nuances (including new advancements in DS-adjacent gun styles), but "2011" and "double stack 1911" are commonly used in the industry for this umbrella of handguns.
What does "optics-ready" or "optic cut" mean?
Optics-ready means the pistol slide is machined to mount a red dot sight directly or with an adapter plate. The "optic cut" is the specific footprint that cut matches (such as RMR, ACRO, or DPP). Check each product's listed optic cut to confirm which sights it accepts.
What is Cerakote?
A ceramic-based firearm finish that's highly durable and resistant to corrosion and wear. It comes in many colors and is widely used on custom builds, with increasing skill and variation in patterns and styles.
What is DLC?
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) is an extremely hard, low-friction coating — usually deep black — prized for durability and a premium look on slides and barrels.
Do your firearms include a warranty?
We only partner with manufacturers and shops who stand behind what they make and offer suitable warranties; terms vary by brand. If you have any issues, reach out to the manufacturer for the most direct help — and we're of course happy to help wherever needed to take care of issues our clients encounter. Contact us anytime.
Are all your firearms brand new?
Yes — everything on our site is in brand new factory condition, unless explicitly specified as "Demo" or "Consignment."
Do you sell ammunition?
We do not currently — we're mainly focused on firearms, accessories, and parts.

Eligibility

Age and buyer requirements.

What are the minimum age requirements?
Federal minimums for purchase from a licensed dealer: 18 for long guns (rifles and shotguns), 21 for handguns and NFA items, 18 for ammunition (21 for handgun ammunition in some states). Some states are stricter — you're responsible for knowing your state's laws. See our Age Verification & Buyer Eligibility page.
